JOB DESCRIPTION


As a senior leader in Project Execution, you'll lead high-performing teams in envisioning and creating complex technology solutions across the firm. This prominent position combines strategic thinking – about industry trends, firm-specific initiatives and relevant technology – with a deep understanding for how to develop and implement programs that can be rolled out globally, and across multiple lines of business. You'll work closely with executive leadership across the firm to identify and prioritize projects that serve the best interest of the entire firm. Meanwhile, you'll ensure that your Project Execution colleagues have the resources and guidance they need to deliver timely and relevant solutions. As a key professional in JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s global technology group, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the industry's leading talent in developing programs with broad and lasting implications.

Key responsibilities

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business, as well expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines
  • Track record for managing high-performing teams on large and complicated programs
  • Ability to create and support a collaborative culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent
  • A strong understanding of financial control, budget management, risk management, and operations
  • Expertise working in partnership with colleagues throughout the firm and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals - -
  • Responsible for overseeing a portfolio of programs and projects while ensuring all programs and projects are delivered with high quality, on scope, on time, on budget, governance & with the intended outcomes achieved and ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures. May include direct management of some programs and projects.
  • Keep all programs and projects on track, while guiding/assisting program & project managers to solution & mitigate risks and issues, while escalating decisions to executive sponsors as necessary
  • Defining and implementing the most effective organization structure, while coaching/mentoring a team of Program and Project Managers to detect, solution, and mitigate program and project risks and issues effectively and efficiently
  • Coach/Mentor the team to effectively communicate to executive sponsors & project stakeholders; oversees scheduled program and project briefings/status updates/steering committee meetings, as needed
  • Create an environment that breeds trust and collaboration, inside and outside the immediate team. Exhibit a strategic business focus with a client-focused perspective, driving towards achieving client outcomes.

Required qualifications

  • Substantial Technical & Strategic Program Management experience and extensive team leadership & mentoring.
  • 10+ years’ experience leading and managing a global portfolio of programs/projects in multiple technologies, functions (e.g. transaction management, risk management etc.).
  • Extensive experience in managing programs and projects through all phases of the life cycle and expert working knowledge of an industry recognized Project Management methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standard project management tools for financial and project reporting.
  • Formal program/project management training and discipline knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of technologies, systems, drivers and trends in global investment banking technology environments backed by a solid understanding of the banking industry fundamentals.
  • Experienced in Scrum Agile Project Management that can take our product development teams to the next level in adoption of Agile, Scrum and Kanban practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile industry standard best practices to provide high touch and hands on team guidance in agile and waterfall frameworks.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking regulatory, compliance, risk and security aspects.
  • Proven experience managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse team.
  • Extensive experience with multi-million-dollar portfolio of programs and projects with high complexity and client focus.

Preferred qualifications

  • Proven experience at driving a team of program and projects managers to deliver a portfolio of programs and projects on time & within budget.
  • Extensive experience at driving towards outcomes and presenting metrics to key stakeholders and senior executives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command.
  • Listening and gathering client/user inputs. Mentor, manage, and support and team to simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and preparing quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor a team, via strong and analytical skills.
  • Extensive and proven negotiation & influencing skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management & client focus.
