Job Title:IT Network Engineer II - 991558 Location: Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida Work Type: Full Time with Full Benefits Job Category: Exempt Hiring Range: Pay Basis:Annually
Subject to Grant Funding?: No Essential Job Functions: 1. Responds and troubleshoots any alerts from the NSU monitoring system.2. Troubleshoots and provides fault isolation for NSU remote locations.
3. Configures and troubleshoots NSU firewalls.
4. Configures and troubleshoots NSU Aruba Wireless Network.
5. Implements approved architecture, deploys new and/or expanded network systems.
6. Configures, operates, and maintains the NSU network routing infrastructure.
7. Performs regular maintenance on network devices, including but not limited to running system backups, reviewing logs, and upgrading OSs.
8. Maintains documentation on all routing policies, procedures, and configurations.
9. Completes special projects as assigned.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Special Requirement: Available on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using a rotation schedule.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. May travel off-campus to attend professional and/or training conferences and remote NSU locations.
2. Assists with special projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Intermediate knowledge of Juniper, Brocade hardware and IOS.
2. Intermediate knowledge in root cause analysis and remediation to avoid future outages.
3. Intermediate knowledge of Wireless design and support.
4. Intermediate knowledge in routing technologies and protocols (MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
5. Intermediate knowledge in Juniper switching and firewall hardware and JunOS.
6. General Knowledge VPN creation and troubleshooting (IPSEC and GRE).
7. Intermediate knowledge of Ethernet switching technologies (creation and support of VLANs, Ether channel, Spanning Tree, etc.).

1. Intermediate skills in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
2. Intermediate Visio/Documentation skills.

Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Major (if required): Required Experience: High School Diploma and six (6) years' networking experience and advanced networking certification(s),

Associate's degree and four (4) years' networking experience and advanced networking certification(s),

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years' networking experience and advanced networking certifications.
