Along with our in-house design department, Ferguson self performs concrete, masonry, steel erection, general carpentry, and sheet metal roofing and siding trades. About This Position
The IT Manager will have the opportunity to manage 2 employees and is expected to be a hands on, working manager. They will be responsible for interfacing regularly with regional Vice Presidents and employees who work with/for them. Some travel will be required to all regional offices regularly. The position can be based in any one of the 4 regional offices. This is not a remote position, although the organization supports work life flexibility as needed to take care of obligations outside of work on an ad hoc basis.
This is a new position that has been created in response to the significant growth the company is experiencing. The ideal candidate will bring both a results orientation and strategic mindset. This individual will be the IT department head, and as such will be responsible for collecting, prioritizing, and organizing work to complete for providing high quality customer service and completing tickets that come in from all regions.
About The Initial Projects
We are seeking a person to work on our Cloud adoption program, with experience of working with cloud solutions, re-platforming, and re-architecting solutions onto cloud.
We are working to transform our on-premises Information Technology systems into a hybrid cloud environment. The goal is the transformation of our information technology to support cloud delivery of systems across supporting staff across multiple locations.
Cloud Solutions Architect to be a technical leader in the field to both support our sales team and help deliver migrations to the cloud.
Other Responsibilities
- Analyze and document business and technical requirements necessary to enable the migration from on-premises to cloud delivery of products and solutions that include: Sage CRE, Sage Estimating, Procore and Microsoft Based Systems
- Create, analyze and validate existing functional and technical needs.
- Install, configure and support cloud solutions
- Create good chain of custody, access hierarchies and user management systems
- Participate and provide data analysis where appropriate
- Implement designs for on premise and cloud native services in alignment with company's objectives
- Troubleshoot and support cloud-based services.
- Help execute multi-offering solutions to customers, covering a wide variety of product spaces.
- Define the system components, services, and technologies necessary to insure successful delivery
- Collaborate with the customers, service delivery, and service operations teams to bring our customers the most efficient, practical, and maintainable solutions.
Experience Preferred
The individual we hire will work on a collaborative team to evaluate business requirements, translate the business needs into solutions designs, and development requirements that can be executed to transform our systems into hybrid-cloud/on-premises environment.
- Software engineers and Solutions Architects are encouraged to apply
- Experience in at least one of the following: infrastructure architecture, web application architecture, database architecture, integration architecture, and excellent understanding in others
- Experience with both on-premise and Cloud-based network topologies. This includes the understanding of concepts that include TCP/IP, VPN, advanced local routing, BGP, and ExpressRoute
- Has developed Cloud-based solutions that are architected to the provider's Cloud adoption framework with an appropriate landing zone
- Experience architecting and selling solutions in at least one of the public cloud platforms - AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Experience with hybrid cloud deployments, and on premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps (cloud-based file solutions.)
- Experience in launching or supporting enterprise cloud hosted platforms
