This position is responsible for partnering with key IT and business resources to participate in development and adoption of a finance systems roadmap including ERP rationalization, digitizing core financial systems, standardizing core processes and services resulting in increased speed, accuracy and availability of financial process and data. Immediate priorities for this position will include leading a multi-year global E-Invoicing program and support of operational and audit compliance activities.The position may be based in Northville, MIand reports directly to the Executive Director Core Finance Technologyof the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with portfolio managers to ensure compliance projects are identified and executed in advance of compliance due dates so that Tenneco remains 100% compliant in all areas, for all business units, globally. These projects should be prioritized, timed and run concurrently, where possible, for execution efficiency.
- Partner with the business and leverage external resources (e.g. auditors, publications, etc.) to stay abreast of all compliance changes – new and updated initiatives based on scope, date, business and system impact.
- Lead Tenneco’s move to tool standardization, moving away from local tools that increase the systems landscape, and both complicate support and the eventual ERP transformation.
- Participates in definition with Corporate Finance, including but not limited to Accounting, Tax, Treasury and Audit.
- Executes strategies and directions based on the roadmap evaluating efforts to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.
- Provides leadership and technical expertise to the Development teams, Solutions Architects, Business Analysts and external teams to produce detailed use cases, data models and collaboration diagrams.
- Participates in planning and coordination with all key stakeholders to advance company goals.
- Evaluates, prioritizes and assists in the management of the backlog for the Corporate Finance domain.
- Develops the appropriate objectives for the team to align with the business requirements and directs the methodologies by which those objectives are going to be accomplished.
- Internal and external resource planning and co-ordination to ensure optimum delivery.
- Implements direction from executive management to ensure the overall strategic direction of is consistent with and supported by Corporate Finance goals.
- Monitors and manages programs/projects within the Finance domain.
- Directs the grouping of and assignment of tasks, while ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Oversees and evaluates business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Directs the development and administration of the Back Office Architecture group.
- Manages effective partnerships with vendors, internal constituents and other departments to integrate solutions and assess scope cost and timelines.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience leading techno/functional Finance teams driving strategy and operations of globally distributed tools and teams. Experience with Tax, Compliance and E-Invoicing ERP technologies and Add Ins. Ex. SAP DRC, Pagero and Vertex. Extensive experience with Finance and Controlling, along with an understanding of OTC and PTP and the functional integration between these areas (SAP ERP strongly preferred).
Skills
- Strong Finance, Accounting and Supply Chain/Manufacturing acumen with an understanding of how the processes are supported within the ERP and by reporting. Auto industry experience ideal, but projects involving supply chain / manufacturing, understanding will suffice.
- Background in supporting compliance-related initiatives. Comfortable working with Finance and Accounting leadership to understand laws, regulations and standards to facilitate the intake of new projects to determine where IT involvement is needed.
- Prior project involvement in a broad range of systems and tools – ERPs with Standard and Customized functions, 3rd Party Tools, Analytics/KPIs, and FP&A.
- Seasoned large-scale program manager, with the ability to manage a wide range of Finance initiatives, build relationships with business and IT stakeholders. Experience with a large, matrixed, multinational organization is strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand requirements to assist with governance and identify when project and/or program objectives are at risk, raise to various IT/Business stakeholders for course correction and decision-making.
- Ability to direct collaborative efforts of direct reports and other resources throughout the organization, including internal and vendor technical resources and other constituent groups as appropriate.
- Excellent presentation, public speaking and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in effective program management and delivery.
- Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity.

- Budget development and management skills, including the ability to track expenses against commitments, set priorities for funding, and develop annual budgets.
- Ability to work independently and manage the independent work of other team members as appropriate; includes the ability to recognize need for involvement of other teams/peers and capability to effectively facilitate that collaboration.
- Excellent understanding of process architecture, solution architecture and technology enablement.
- Strong general IT background and understanding of automation protocols to drive operational efficiency.
- Strong process and domain architecture skills.
- Understanding of general accounting, tax, treasury and audit principles and priorities.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
