Complete Description: The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) seeks an adept Software and Data Integration Engineer to bolster its team. The chosen candidate will support state projects and enterprise-scale applications crucial to aiding the aging community. Primarily responsible for ensuring seamless software system integration, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, developing, and implementing integrations, as well as providing post-deployment support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integration Planning: Collaborate with development and business unit teams to gather, define, and analyze integration requirements, translating them into technical specifications and system architecture.
- Systems Analysis: Analyze existing systems, identifying integration points and dependencies.
- Middleware Development: Design and develop middleware components (APIs), implementing data transformation and mapping logic.
- Coding and Scripting: Write code or scripts to implement integration solutions using programming languages or integration tools.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of integration solutions to ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve integration issues, collaborating with other teams to address challenges.
- Collaboration and Communication: Produce technical and operational documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Deployment and Maintenance: Oversee deployment of integration solutions into production environments, providing ongoing support and maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about new technologies and best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to improve existing integrations.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent technical study.
- Direct experience creating enterprise-level integrations across diverse technical environments.
- Experience designing and building web services and API protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON).
- Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- .NET Web Forms, MVC, and .NET Core experience.
- Angular (5 and above), Bootstrap, JQuery experience.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java, XML, EDI or OBI.
- Azure DevOps experience.
- Extensive knowledge of relational database design and management techniques, especially with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database.
