As the IT Business Analyst, you will solicit, understand, and document the business requirements and processes that support existing systems and their overall business strategy. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the documentation for new and existing applications including process flows, functional specifications, context diagrams and testing documents. You will interface directly with the finance, accounting, production, and other business areas that support the day-to-day operations of the Recorded Music business.
Responsibilities
What you'll do:
- Responsible for analyzing the business needs to identify new processes and improvements that will meet those needs.
- Documents current business processes and models to define requirements and/or gaps.
- Participate and manage functional and technical requirements, systems configuration, data integrity and all system-related procedure business process mapping and requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams across IT to ensure that all processes, procedures, and policies are adhered to for the projects and enhancements assigned.
- Participate in the design, development, testing and deployment of new business functionality
- Provide guidance on how technology solutions could solve business problems to enable business functionality.
- Provide updates on project status, issues, risks, and change requests.
- Coordinates with appropriate stakeholder's application issues, defects, and enhancements.
- Assists with the establishment of implementation plans and understand the overall solution design and strategy.
- Reviews and approves customization requirements when needed.
- Assists with the creation of test cases and supports User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system configuration objectives have been met.
- Looks for opportunities to improve business processes through automation.
Qualifications
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
Experience with and understanding of business processes supporting Finance and Accounting required.
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences in written and non-written format.
- Knowledge of all phases of software development including requirements/story gathering, analysis, solution design, development, testing (unit, integration, end-to-end user), implementation, and support.
- Must have formal process documentation experience using software tools to capture business process flows
- Experience with project issue and tracking tools such as JIRA
- PMP and/or Agile Practitioner training or certification is highly desired
- Has played a key role designing functional standards and processes for an organization.
