ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

The ITSDT Unit (Data Science & Digital Platforms) within the ITSOC department (Operations & Corporate) manages key cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, Microsoft M365, Power Platform, as well as DevOps and other developer tools. Our core mission is to support application teams to deliver innovative solutions in a secure fashion.

We are seeking a hands-on Developer in the Power Platform, Azure cloud & C#/.NET areas. This position's main responsibilities include application development and providing technical guidance and development expertise in modernizing the application portfolios. Teamwork and collaboration with stakeholders is important.

We are seeking someone with a mix of analytical and interpersonal skills coupled with a curiosity to learn and transform new knowledge into actionable insights. They would have a background in application development and solution architecture, with good exposure to the Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Microsoft .NET, and Azure cloud.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Application Development: Understand requirements, design, and implement end-to-end applications leveraging modern cloud technologies.

2.Support Other App Teams: Support other app teams and help them use the Power Platform effectively.

3.Knowledge Sharing: Actively seek and share knowledge with others, effectively communicating and presenting information in a clear and organized manner. 

We are looking for someone who not only has the technical know-how and experience but also the soft skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Selection Criteria

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Experience:

We are looking for a seasoned professional who has had experience in some of the following areas:

•Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specific job responsibilities outlined above and over 3 years of strong hands-on experience in developing enterprise applications using various Dynamics 365/Power Platform components (Dataverse, Canvas & Model-driven apps, Power Pages, Power Automate and Power BI), SQL, Kusto, C# and .NET, especially for plug-ins.

•Excellent grasp of Dynamics 365/Dataverse SDK and strong solution implementation experience in building custom solutions with configuration, customizations, and extensions (using JavaScript, React and C#), leveraging Dataverse, Power Apps, and Azure cloud services.

•Excellent knowledge of industry best practices in Application Development, Solution Design, Architecture & Deployment, with a successful track record of implementing multiple projects in an enterprise environment.

•Able to translate business requirements into tangible data models and security models.

•Experienced in Dataverse integration, SQL queries, ETL, including tools like Power Automate, ADF, etc.

•Experienced working with DevOps, continuous integration, and managing deployments.

•Proven ability to collaborate with team members.

•Takes personal ownership and accountability for meeting deadlines and achieving agreed-upon results, with strong problem-solving skills.

Skills:

Technology: Power Platform (Dataverse, Power Apps, Portal, Automate, Power Pages, AI Builder, Customer Voice, Power BI), Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Teams, Graph API, and Azure services such as Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Function, Azure Data Factory, Azure SSIS, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure AD etc.

IT Skills: Application Development, Agile Product Delivery, System Integration & ETL

Communication and Collaboration Skills: Able to work with others within the team and across teams.

Knowledge Sharing: Able to document technical content into ‘knowledge’ i.e. guidelines, checklists etc.

Soft Skills: Ability to analyze issues and solve problems efficiently and creatively.

Seeks mentoring opportunities with more experienced staff to deepen or strengthen their professional knowledge and mentors junior staff Builds networks across the WBG and as part of external professional groups/networks.

•Make Smart Decisions: Recommends and takes decisive action. Applies critical thinking and seeks inputs and experience from others to recommend a course of action consistent with the WBG’s strategy. Evaluates risk and anticipates the short- and long-term implications of decisions.
