JOB SUMMARY
The IT Administrator / Technical Support Representative provides onsite technical assistance and answers users questions, assisting users by troubleshooting problems with computer hardware or software. Pay Range $47,784 - $67,716 per year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Troubleshoots, Identifies, investigates, and resolves users problems with computer software and hardware.
  • Successfully guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions.
  • Fields support calls, chat, email, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns.
  • Analyze and determine the requirements for supporting the operating system, including development, installation, upgrades, configuration, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.
  • Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems.
  • Performs analysis of data; editing, preparing, and summarizing for reporting purposes
  • Collaborates with programmers to explain errors and/or recommend modifications in programs.
  • Prepare and/or assist with preparing technical training programs
  • Avoids legal challenges by monitoring compliance with service agreements.
  • Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
  • Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field preferred. Strong understanding of technology, including the various hardware, software and networking systems being supported.
  • At least three years of experience in customer technical support highly preferred.
  • Strong customer service acumen with ability to have high level of patience with individuals in non-technical roles.
  • Cooperates with others to accomplish common goals; works with employees within and across departments to achieve shared goals; treats others with dignity and respect and maintains a friendly demeanor; values the contributions of others
  • Is alert in a high-risk environment; follows detailed procedures and ensures accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitors gauges, instruments, or processes; concentrates on routine work details; organizes and maintains a system of records.
  • Writes and speaks effectively, using conventions proper to the situation; asks questions to ensure understanding; exercises a professional approach with others using all appropriate tools of communication; uses consideration and tact when offering opinions. Must be able to communicate technical issues and solutions to individuals without a technical background.
  • Remains open-minded and changes opinions on the basis of new information; performs a wide variety of tasks and changes focus quickly as demands change; manages transitions from task to task effectively; adapts to varying customer needs
  • Able to manage multiple projects; able to determine project urgency in a practical way; uses goals to guide actions; creates detailed action plans; organizes and schedules people and tasks effectively
  • Manages own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals.
