State Fund's Investment Unit, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Investment Analyst to assist with management, monitoring, and analysis of investments across asset classes with a primary focus on structured credit and private debt market. Office locations for this position are located in San Francisco, Pleasanton, or Vacaville.
Under the general direction of the VP of Investments, Investment Analyst will work closely with the Senior Investment Officer (lead) to:
- Execute and implement new investment strategies
- Monitor investments across equity and alternative asset classes, with a focus on public equities, private equity, infrastructure, and real estate
- Conduct due diligence analysis to determine suitable investment strategies and make recommendations
- Monitor investment performance/risk/activity
- Conduct complex research on a wide variety of evolving strategic investment topics
- Handle ad hoc projects, presentations and reports
- Support the investment portfolio operations
- Complete accounting and financial analysis and review of investments to comply with accounting requirements and investment guidelines
The most successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
- Possession or working toward a Chartered Financial Analysis designation, MBA, or MS in Finance.
- Knowledge of investment principles and practices, investment types and markets
- Advanced knowledge of statistical and mathematical methods, used for investment analysis, due diligence and modeling
- Analyze situations accurately making sound decisions on the value and suitability of investments research and analyze complex issues with excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of investment platforms specific to covered asset classes

Working Conditions
