Day Shift, Full Time

Job Summary

The Inventory Coordinator for Central Supply is responsible for the inventory control and management of centralized supplies and distribution at Skagit Valley Hospital and to the Skagit Regional Clinic sites. Oversees and coordinates the day-to-day functions involved with inventory management of two warehouses at Skagit Valley Hospital and offsite warehouse in Burlington.

Essential Functions

Maintains adequate supply levels throughout the organization utilizing the PAR level replenishment system.

Reviews all PAR level utilizations for SVH and MV campus departments.

Works with SRH leaders to establish effective levels.

Utilizes all materials/supplies in a cost-effective manner.

Supports the ordering of materials/supplies in an accurate and timely manner.

Edits ordering department PAR forms as needed.

Evaluates materials/supplies for stock/nonstock status determination.

Expedites back-order items and offers alternate materials/supplies to meet required need.

Coordinates orders, returns and issue resolution with vendors.

Inputs inventories/requests in system in an accurate and timely manner.

Communicates item location changes and product status to customers in a timely manner.

Coordinates the maintenance of adequate supply levels in anticipation of emergency situations and maintains sources of emergency supply items from other health facilities and vendors.

Ensure supply room(s) are maintained in an orderly manner.

Adjusts supply location as required. Maintains inventory management through effective cycle counting and inventory utilization reports.

Adjusts Min/Max levels as needed for effective inventory management.

May assist with the asset recording of IT equipment, capital equipment and furniture.

Oversee annual inventory count for distribution per established policies and procedures.

Ensures central service, materials handling and patient care equipment is properly maintained and preventative maintenance is performed regularly.

Operates as a subject matter expert for distribution, performing as a resource for staff and ordering departments.

Ensure compliance to standards of accreditation and regulatory agencies.

Departmental point person for Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS).

Responsible for all customer service related functions including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.

Assist Director with product recall and alerts. Ensures that all Federal and State regulations are followed.

Assists in the development of standards, policies and procedures that are consistent with recognized inventory control distribution.

Reports and/or resolves all safety incidents or issues in a timely manner.

Assists department directors and managers in obtaining material safety data sheets (SDS) on all hazardous materials used in the hospital.

Assists with Value Analysis projects and coordinates product evaluation as required.

Attends and actively participates in meetings, committees and councils as required.

Facilitates open communication and participation among staff.

Education

High School diploma or GED required. Some college in related field preferred.

Experience/Training

Minimum of two (2) years-experience in materials management or central supply distribution and inventory management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

License/Certifications

Current Washington State Driver’s License certification required.
