Position Summary:An inventory control associate is responsible for maintaining and managing the company’s material inventory by counting and monitoring inventories and items to ensure alignment system generated reports. Responsibilities include conducting inventory counts and assessments, utilizing software to evaluate product inventories, weighing products, maintaining records, opening and re-packaging shipments, organizing products according to protocols, locating lost goods and reporting inconsistent or damaged goods. An Inventory Controls team member may also develop and recommend strategies to enhance inventory procedures, help aid current staff needs and participate in maintaining work area efficiencies. May be asked to assist occasionally at nearby Ortec Inc locations.
Essential Duties:
- Performs inventory counts assigned from the Warehouse Management System (WMS) as well as any additional counts that may be required.
- Assist in verifying and adjusting inventory discrepancies based on physical counts versus system generated reports
- Ensures warehouse locations are accurate regarding item, weight count, batch number according to company standards and metrics
- Accurately reports physical inventory to ensure smooth business operations.
- Perform quality checks on stored inventory and seeking disposition on items that does not meet the company’s standards.
- Monitors returns of goods to and from vendors and customers.
- Assist other departments in material movements and count verification as requested.
- Follows Aging inventory disposition with cross functional teams.
- Safely operates a forklift for materials movements.
- Follows ISO and customer’s protocol for all batch controlled and age sensitive items.
- Fully support Ortec’s goal of zero workplace safety incidents and participate in EHS&S programs.
- Follow company policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Inventory experience in a warehouse setting preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF/barcode scanning.
- Strong investigative and deductive skills.
- General understanding of warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.
