Responsibilities and Expectations:
Southland Electrical Supply, an IPS Company, is seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to maintain on-site inventory. This position consists of pulling items for orders, organizing inventory and stocking items on the shelf.
- Accurately pick, allocate, and apply serial numbers (if available) to inventoried items for orders.
- Verify orders against Southland Electrical Supply’s standards for accuracy and completeness.
- Make necessary changes when an order does not meet the established standards.
- Check stock for potential orders.
- Notify the requesting party about the status of available stock.
- Place items in their correct location when not needed for an in-process order.
- Reassign items to inventory resulting from a "Customer Return."
- Place newly purchased items in the correct bin location.
- Notify the Inventory Control Lead about any inventory inaccuracies.
- Maintain inventory on shelves and in bins in an orderly manner.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness.
- Maintain locations housing inventory to uphold a neat and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- General understanding and firsthand experience with safe work environments
- Be able to read, interpret, and modify documents
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an excellent driving record
- Ability to possess the following certifications: PearlTM Level I and II, Forklift training, TSC Electrical Training Classes completed within one (1) year of hire date, Mine and Safety Administration (MSHA) Training, 10-30 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Card, In-house Training on individual machines in the shop
