As an Inventory Analyst with a specialization in safety stock management, you will play a crucial role in maintaining tight control over our warehouses, ensuring accurate inventory totals, and optimizing safety stock levels to support our operations.
Job Description: As an Inventory Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to manage and control our warehouses and inventory totals, with a strong emphasis on safety stock management to ensure that products are readily available for our customers while minimizing the risk of stockouts.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Stock Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust safety stock policies and procedures to ensure product availability while mitigating risks associated with fluctuations in demand or supply chain disruptions.
- Regularly review and adjust safety stock levels based on historical data, demand forecasts, and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety stock levels align with business goals and customer expectations.
- Align the multiple WMS against SAP to ensure all forward and reverse logistics are appropriately account it.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and prevent overstock or stockouts, with a particular focus on safety stock items.
- Ensure that safety stock levels are well-integrated into the overall inventory control strategy, including working with manufacturing schedules to prevent unnecessary production.
Warehouse Management:
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to organize and optimize warehouse layouts for efficient handling of safety stock items.
- Implement best practices for receiving, storing, and shipping safety stock products.
- Monitor warehouse activities related to safety stock to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Data Analysis:
- Utilize inventory management software and tools to analyze data trends related to safety stock items.
- Generate reports and provide insights into the performance of safety stock levels, identifying areas for improvement and adjustment.
- Make data-driven recommendations to enhance safety stock management and overall inventory control.
Supplier Communication:
- Maintain open communication with our parent company in China to coordinate shipments of safety stock items, lead times, and product availability.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure that safety stock requirements are met and aligned with demand fluctuations.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and automation related to safety stock management.
- Implement new strategies to enhance the efficiency of safety stock control and minimize carrying costs.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export regulations and maintain accurate records of safety stock movements, receipts, and disbursements.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure that safety stock practices meet regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, and safety stock management.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in inventory management software and Excel.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and international shipping processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
