Role Summary
Support the Division Materials and Production departments by assisting with the production schedule plan and by assisting to develop, maintain and analyze inventory control systems and procedures, identifying gaps in those systems and procedures, and making recommendations to facilitate accurate inventory reporting and control.

• Warehouse/Inventory Manual
• Champion continuous improvements of materials processes and seek cost reduction opportunities.
• Maintain 5S program and visual aids for materials team usage on shop floor.
• Champion inventory management processes, workflows, warehousing layouts, and overall improvements
• Enhance material handling FIFO, communication, and efficiencies.
• Notify appropriate personnel of non-conformance situations.
• Provide reports as required by the Materials Manager or Production Scheduler
• Work with Engineering and Materials Lead to ensure proper guarding, racking, flow racks, roller, and the like, are in place to store material throughout the facility.
• Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example.
• Promote and facilitate Open Door process, effective communication,
• and Fair Treatment
• Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications
• Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations.
• Able to prepare, read, write, and interpret written reports, procedures, instructions and guidelines.
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers.
• Able to organize, schedule, and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Able to work flexible hours and overtime. This may require periodically working on other shifts.
• Able to use computer and software as required.
Education, Skills and Experience
• Prefer at least two years experience in a Materials related field.
• Some post secondary courses related to Materials or Inventory control preferred.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of computerized inventory management.
• Automotive background with an understanding of Materials Release Planning (MRP) systems; and membership and/or certification with American Association for Production and Inventory Control (APIC) would be preferred.
• Knowledge of customer and ISO9001: 2004 / ISO-TS 16949 requirements
• Strong computer skills required.
• Forklift Certification
• Overhead crane certification
