The Lorain County Joint Vocational School is accepting applications for the position of:
INTERVENTION SPECIALIST INSTRUCTOR (2 Positions)

Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.

SALARY:
Appropriate step on Teacher's Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education
REPORTS TO:
Assigned Supervisor/Principal

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Education
Appropriate State of Ohio certification/licensure as required for this position
Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating IEP's
Flexibility to work with various schedules in multiple settings
Optimal technology-related skills
Effective communication skills
Engaging instructional techniques
Utilizes multiple strategies for student assessment
Desire to work with high school age students
Ability to create an environment for student success
Clear drive to achieve professional growth
Responsive to diverse student needs, backgrounds, interests and abilities
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Transition To Work (TTW) Endorsement
Prior teaching experience in a special education environment
Extensive experience in the IAT process
Knowledge of career and technical program offerings
First Aide/ CPR training
Experience in a career technical environment
Extensive knowledge of current law as it relates to providing special education services in the State of Ohio
