At Sidus, you will be joining a team made up of highly talented individuals, each contributing their own experience, knowledge, and skills while moving towards our vision of Space Access Reimagined® - making Space accessible to all by increasing the viability of low-cost access.

Sidus Interns play a significant role in creating solutions for real aerospace challenges/opportunities while receiving invaluable, hands-on experiences that cannot be taught in a classroom. As part of our team, you will experience actual space hardware and satellite manufacturing operations and participate in aerospace projects over the 8-10 week program. We operate with a sense of urgency, we are customer obsessed, always learning, and constantly evolving and we can’t wait to have you as a part of our team!

Job Summary

In our Systems Engineering Internship program, you will work with a mentor in your field of study to develop assignments that expand your current knowledge and skills within the aerospace industry.

Over the 8 – 10-week Internship period you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work directly with a mentor in your field of study.
  • Experience our products and innovations by touring our manufacturing and satellite development facilities.
  • Interact with company leaders.
  • Build lasting professional network through engaging activities and social events.
  • Gain the skills and knowledge to enter the aerospace industry at the completion of your education.
    • Note: Other related duties as assigned**

Required Education & Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering program in either of the following disciplines:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Software Engineering
    • Systems Engineering
    • Radio Frequency Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Required Skills

  • Attention to Detail – Strong observation skills and keen attention to detail. Incorrect information can throw a budget off track and cause incorrect reporting.
  • Problem-Solving — The adept ability to identify and analyze any potential problems and utilize critical thinking to strategize for the best solutions.
  • Skill with Technology – Interns will benefit most from being adept with technology. Microsoft software, spreadsheet programs and standard email are all key elements of this position Being comfortable with these programs will enable the candidate to succeed as an Intern.
  • Communication – Since our Interns interact with multiple staff members, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively is beneficial to a productive individual. Video call conversations, written communication via email and formal letters, as well as in-person meetings all require the Intern to have the ability to convey their ideas, concerns, and solutions.
  • Time Management — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work in a timely manner. Managing one's time appropriately and efficiently is crucial in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Working Independently and In Teams — Accomplishing some tasks independently while also building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to accomplish group tasks together.
  • Dependability — Being trustworthy and reliable when it comes to completing job tasks individually or as part of a group.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for the Space/Aerospace Industry.
  • Previous involvement with related civic or student organizations preferred.
  • Previous business, related internships or work experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary Work – occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, only sometimes required to walk and stand (unless in a travel situation).
  • Computer Work – daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • All candidates selected will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen
  • To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
