Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you'll be tasked with offering legal counsel and direction across various Commercial Real Estate issues. The perfect candidate will possess a deep understanding of Commercial Real Estate transactions and excel in managing diverse responsibilities within a fast-paced legal setting. Experience in single-family rental, particularly from either the builder or fund perspective, is preferred. This position presents a stimulating and fulfilling opportunity to engage in intricate transactions and drive our clients' success.
Duties:
- Experience in drafting, revising, and negotiating commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, as well as complex Real Estate contracts.
- Demonstrate expertise in conducting thorough title and survey reviews, and efficiently managing the closure of purchase and sale transactions.
- Skillfully manage the due diligence process.
- Provide strategic legal advice on various Commercial Real Estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing;
- Lead and manage legal matters related to single-family rental transactions, offering expertise on either the builder or fund side.
- Effectively draft and negotiate confidentiality agreements and letters of intent.
- Negotiate and document third-party financing.
- Prepare and finalize documents for mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
- Supervise the closings of multi-property portfolios.
- Offer guidance to clients regarding entity formation, joint ventures, compliance matters, and record maintenance;
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and trust.
- Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys within the Real Estate practice.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Real Estate laws, regulations, and practices.
- Excellent negotiation and drafting skills for preparing legal documents.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills crucial for engaging with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
- Background in single-family rental experience on either the builder or fund side.
- Experience in litigating Commercial Real Estate disputes is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Client-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using Westlaw and other relevant resources.
- At least eight (8) years of Commercial Real Estate experience.
- Licensed to practice in the State of New York.
