General Overview
Innovation is a 140 person Mass General Brigham business development unit responsible for the worldwide commercial application of the breakthroughs and unique capabilities of the System's 80,000 employees and faculty. It drives revenue generation and patient benefit through industry collaborations, investing, company creation, licensing, and innovation management for the System's Harvard Medical School appointed faculty and hospitals including its core Harvard affiliates -- Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear and McLean Hospital.
This opportunity offers hands-on experience in project coordinatina nd requires a work commitment of half-time or more. Work can be completed remotely with the option for in-person as desired. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in the planning and execution of the World Forum and innovator conferences. Attend team meetings, participate in discussions and complete action items. Complete ad hoc research and web searches to support key elements of Innovator Events.
Support the following functions:
o Follow up on speaker invitations, communicate deadlines and obtain materials in a timely fashion
o Schedule speaker and panel prep calls both inside and outside of Mass General Brigham. Coordinate all schedule changes. Maintain accurate records of call participation and communicate status to Project leads on a regular basis.
o Send out and track the use of complimentary registration codes by company or organization.
o Solicit and manage employee volunteers to staff events including registration desk, Mobile App help desk, and student attendees.
o Manage requests for securing meeting space at events (including managing any AV needs, whiteboards, food & beverage, etc.).
o Support the Marketing and Communications Lead to execute the communications strategy.
o Manage general inboxes as requested as triage communications.
o Provide on-site support for events.
o Support other projects enabling successful event executions assigned
Qualifications
Ideal for a student pursuing a marketing, events and or communications degree
1-2 years of experience in an office environment, preferably in a position with a focus on administration, marketing, communications and/or event management.
Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Basic understanding of marketing and event principles and best practices.
Highly organized with an attention to detail.
Experience using MS Office Suite (including Excel, PPT, Word, design, and graphics), Google docs, Word Press, HootSuite, and Constant Contact ESP.
Positive attitude with a willingness to pitch in and be a team player.
Works well under pressure and constantly shifting priorities.
Professional demeanor and ability to work well with C-Suite level staff.
Creativity and problem-solving ability.
