Purpose
Assists the GIS Resource team developing and improving Company GIS datasets to support Resources business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve Resources GIS datasets with project-dependent work
- Collaborate with other GIS team members to develop new GIS datasets to support existing and new Resources business initiatives
- Demonstrate keen attention to detail with consistent review and editing of critical spatial data layers
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with key individuals when guidance/clarification needed
- Provide status updates when requested by the GIS Resources Manager
- Projects will include both spatial and attribute edits and include the following GIS layers:
- Edit road layer to better ensure alignment between RRC and BLM data
- Support development of the silviculture GIS layer
- Assist with development/testing of GIS mobile products
- Assist with other editing, review, and/or revisions to GIS data as needed

Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated aptitude for GIS editing, attention to detail, and maintaining consistency across large projects
- Self-driven and possess an unwavering desire to produce high quality work in keeping with project specifications
- Editor-level capabilities creating, managing, and analyzing data in an Esri ArcGIS environment
- Understanding of industrial forest management to ensure representative editing
- Proficient using Microsoft office applications
- Strong communicator (written and verbal) that boosts a highly productive team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player with ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience using ArcGIS software
- Experience in timber inventory
