The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking an Intern(s) to provide support to the DFW Clean Cities program and assist with the redesign of the Coalition website (www.dfwcleancities.org) both in structure and content.
This position will also support the Coalition's efforts to provide guidance and increase awareness among fleets about available alternative fuel/electric vehicle options. Work is highly collaborative, working not only within the NCTCOG team, but also with external stakeholders, including local government staff, workplaces, fleets, citizen groups, associations, and industry representatives. To be considered for another Intern position or any other NCTCOG position that may currently be open, applicants need to apply online separately for those postings. Ideal candidates should be able to work at least 25 hours per week while attending school, with most of that time being in the office.
NCTCOG offices are located in Arlington, Texas. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Developing knowledge of alternative fuel vehicle technologies and infrastructure development efforts, both in terms of industry norms and local activities Assisting with revisions to existing website content and recommending new content Assisting with the development of a schedule for the website redesign and restructure and supporting project management Supporting the planning of alternative fuel and electric vehicle educational events Drafting communications to increase awareness of alternative fuel and electric vehicles Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow instructions Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Detail oriented, highly organized, and ability to handle multiple tasks on short deadlines Ability to work independently and in a team environment Experience with website development, design, or maintenance preferred Required Experience Must be attending an accredited college or university during employment. Pursuit of a degree in Communications, Marketing, Web Design, Journalism, Political Science/Public Administration, Environmental Sciences/Studies, or a related field is preferred No work experience required, at least one year of school-related experience preferred Starting Salary Minimum of $16.00 per hour The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development.
