International Affairs is a guide and champion for campus internationalization at UNT. We support international teaching, research, and service in the provision of expertise and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
Position Overview
The ISSS Coordinator will execute a full range of student advisory and regulatory responsibilities related to Sponsored Student Services and the Student and Exchange Visitor System ( SEVIS) for F-1 status reporting. This position contributes to institutional compliance with federal regulations governing F1/J1 statuses and student scholarships from global sponsors. The ISSS Coordinator will collaborate frequently within ISSS and with campus partners to serve the UNT international community.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of experience and thorough understanding of assigned area (i.e. F-1, J-1, or employment based visa types) or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good understanding of the immigration regulation(s) associated with assigned area.
Good understanding of the immigration processes for institutions of higher education.
Must meet federal requirements to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of business practices and procedures.
Ability to organize and be detail oriented.
Ability to multi-task and possess good time management skills and work under stress.
Ability to work in an open office area with much activity.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: More than 2 years of experience as a P/ DSO; experience with records management and relational databases, specifically SEVIS, Sunapsis, and PeopleSoft; experience working with student accounts; experience working within higher education.
Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
M-F, 8-5 pm are standard working hours. Some evenings or weekends may be required with advanced notice.

Advise International Students regarding F1/J1 regulations and global sponsor scholarship requirements. These tasks include but are not limited to advising on UNT admissions processes, preparing invoices and official support letters, and serving as a liaison with UNT Student Accounting to maintain accurate student account information. Advise both sponsored students and general International Students in F-1/J-1 status on federal immigration requirements, conduct advising hours, and process electronic student requests.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of International Programs, assist with federally reportable International Student data and document transfer flows between three essential systems (Sunapsis, PeopleSoft, and SEVIS) which ensures reporting requirements with federal regulations. This includes but is not limited to SEVIS registration, address updates, academic program updates, OPT employment updates, and other regulatory information updates as required, as well as conducting internal audits for data integrity and consistency of student files and database records.

Prepare and generate reports on International Student enrollment and trends and prepare responses to statistical inquiries from units and external entities. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, perform special projects as assigned.

Serve as a campus liaison with offices around campus to provide holistic support for UNT International Students which may include but is not limited to public presentations and event management.
