This position will work with the Associate Director in the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) to provide advising, programming, and benefits processing in line with J-1 immigration regulations and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) policies and procedures as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO); provide back up support for F-1 benefit services as Designated School Official (DSO)
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree and 2 years’ experience working with college students or adolescents or community groups in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity.
Must be a U.S Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet USCIS eligibility requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities Advising & Processing Services
- Responsible for day-to-day advising and processing as an ARO
- Be available to ISSO and campus stakeholders as an immigration resource
- Keep informed of evolving Department of State regulations and procedures, and UTD policies and procedures.
- Keep technological skills current and effectively utilize the various software and applications at ISSO
Program Administration
- Participate in compliance activities related to individual J-1 Exchange Visitors and program administration
- Provide services for immigration, cross-cultural, and other programming as needed
- Communicate with sponsors and assist with terms of sponsorship including third-party billing, signing forms, and providing information as appropriate.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Participate in group & individual projects to support the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsible services of the ISSO.
- Attend conferences and webinars and provide professional presentations where possible.
- Advocate for the needs of international visitors when appropriate.

A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
