Summary:
The Internal Security Analyst supports Data Protection daily operations providing front line operational and analytical support. This position is aligned to one of the Data Protection sub-domains (Data in Transit, Data at Rest, Cryptographic Services, and Strategy & Governance) and will support one or more of the following core technologies or services related to Data Loss Prevention (DLP), DLP Investigations, Secure Data Transmission, Key Management, Certificate Management, Encryption, Data Discovery, Data Inventory, Tokenization, Cloud Accessible Security Broker (CASB), Security Metrics/Reporting, and line of business consultation and governance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor output of data protection technology to ensure effective operation and respond to events following standard operating procedure.
- Under direct supervisory guidance, support the operations of data protection technologies.
- Generate and publish data protection metrics.
- Vet and fulfill requests for exceptions to security policies/standards.
- Ensure supported security technologies are feeding target security log platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1+ years of related experience including IT, or military service training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic programming skills (read/interpret scripts, write basic scripts)
- Associates Degree or related experience (2 years +)
- Computer Science, MIS, IT Communication Systems/Networking or STEM discipline focus
- CompTIA Network+, A+, Server+ or equivalent; ITIL Fundamentals
- Strong Business competencies
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (writing reports, presenting, etc.)
- Multi-tasking effectively in fast-paced environment
- Basic analytical problem solving
- Functional working knowledge of:
- Networking Fundamentals (OCI Model, TCP/IP, Interconnecting Network Devices, SSH, SSL/TLS Encrypted Communications, X.509 Certificate Management, Kerberos, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS
- Data Privacy Fundamentals (Familiarity with Data Privacy Laws and Regulations Fundamentals, Understanding of Personal Information (PI) protection, Basic understanding of Privacy Breach reporting/impact analysis)
- Cyber Security Fundamentals (Familiarity with key concepts of Vulnerability Management, Network Security/Secure Transmission Management, Data Loss Prevention, Identity Access Management, Threat Intelligence, Penetration testing, IT Risk Management)
- IT Infrastructure Fundamentals (Familiarity with key concepts of IT Infrastructure: Client/Server, Middleware services, 3-tiered architecture (Web/Middleware/Server & Databases), Databases, Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
