Overview:
This role will be responsible for driving employee engagement and adoption of our new intranet platform, and will assist in the ongoing content governance management and best practices on our key employee channels.
- Support the launch and success of a new company wide intranet, in partnership with Comms and IT.
- Participate in internal meetings and creative brainstorms.
- Assist with company-hosted events, from ideation to production.
- Assist in the development of a wide range of Internal Communications materials for a global remote audience, in addition to partnering with our Corporate Communications team on landing with external audiences, as needed.
- Track Internal Communications metrics for monthly reporting.
- Gather and analyze consistent feedback on internal programming to help the team in making data-driven decisions.
- Currently in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies or similar with at least one quarter/semester to complete after the internship.
- Experience writing effective communications materials for medium-to-large audiences (newsletters, news articles, press releases, etc.).
- Track record of executing on creative ideas, with a “ship to learn” mindset.
- Previous Communications internship experience preferred.
- General understanding of GitHub and/or the software development space. (Coding skills not required!)
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn from our experienced and awesome global communications team, while contributing to some big programs and embracing the Hubber experience.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges and learn from experiences during the internship.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role.
