The Internal Audit department is a service-oriented organization within the Finance division. As "internal consultants: we provide objective and professional evaluations of Company operations to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of SAS. Our goal is to provide employees at all levels with information to help control and improve the operations for which they are responsible. The team works on a wide range of projects, including financial, IT, operational and compliance audits. The Internal Audit department also plays an integral role in designing and testing internal controls over financial reporting ("ICFR").
As an intern, you might:

  • Assist in the execution of Internal Audits of SAS financial, operational, and compliance policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the reliability and integrity of information
  • Test the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls
  • Conduct post-audit basic follow-up tasks to evaluate the adequacy of corrective action taken by management to address audit recommendations
  • Design and implement data analytics to uncover risk and derive valuable insights
  • Work on special projects as assigned by the Director of Internal Audit

Required Qualifications
  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning
  • Integrity and Ethics: You must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to upholding ethical practices.
  • Analytical Thinker: You can analyze data, solve problems, and think critically.
  • Attention to Detail: You have a keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies, errors, and potential risks.
  • Communication Skills: You can articulate their ideas clearly and adapt their communication style to different audiences.
  • Technical Abilities: You are proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Collaboration: You should excel in collaborating with others, building positive relationships, and fostering teamwork.
  • Work Hours: Available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time hours during the summer of 2024.
  • You're curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you'll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You're interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.
  • You're a college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2024.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing data visualizations and/or, designing automation tools or robotics process automation (RPA)

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant's year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 - $31 for associate's/bachelor's level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master's/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
