The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024).
This position will be a part of a dedicated group of security professionals and will be a part of protecting the projects and tasks that relate to Cyber Security/Security operations. Our team thrives on cross functional collaboration between the internal Security Operations Team.
As an Information Security Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain experience and contribute to the overall security efforts of JM Family's Information Security Team. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to all facets of Security Operations including Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Interacting and following up with JM Family Associates who may be involved in any Security Operations investigations or analysis.
- Assisting with any activities that may involve the detection, analysis, containment, eradication and response of potential and active threats in the day to day operations.
- Meeting and supporting business security analysts in their day-to-day duties
- Reviewing alerts and incidents within our SIEM environment
- Assist in the administering and accounting and documentation ofSecurity Incident investigations
- Suggest new ideas for improving Security Operations activities
- Assist with the onboarding of new technologies and capabilities as required.
- Assist with other tasks & projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time, hybrid position
- Ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelors degree seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in Information Security (qualified candidates actively enrolled for a degree in a related field will also be considered) and must have completed at least one semester of classes
- Relevant completed coursework including Security Operations, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, Network Security, Cloud Security or similar is desired.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communications necessary

- Desire or interest to conduct active investigations, participate in projects, and conduct presentations
