As a Global Procurement Data Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for developing complex data models to support decision making and strategy development. Using the concepts, you have developed through your academic career, and with guidance from the GP Supplier Diversity Team and Center of Excellence, you will compile data, research best practices and use your own innovative ideas to develop best-in-class models and recommendations. This is not just an exercise - your work will support Micron's Global Procurement team better utilize data to make key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate multiple data sets to develop complex data models
- Develop your business acumen through interviewing Micron team members to better understand our current business environment, initiatives and opportunities.
- Leverage the data models you build to provide forecast and gap analysis to business stakeholders
- Compile industry benchmarking and best-practice research to inform your recommendations
- Present your findings and recommendations to GP leadership
You are:
- Excited by the opportunity to take large amounts of data and leverage to create business insights.
- Fluent in data gathering, research and developing comprehensive strategic plans
- Able to demonstrate tenacity in gathering sound data, a collaborative spirit in working across teams, groups and audiences, and innovation in the ideas you put forth
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong understanding of Python and data analysis packages like Pandas and NumPy
- Experience using data visualizing tools like Tableau, Power BI and SQL
- Preferred experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or snowflake
- Currently pursuing a Computer Science Degree (preference towards graduate students)
- Proficient in written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Duration:
- We are looking for an intern to work part-time (15-20 hours) from January to May 2024
