In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. The IP Analyst II provides focused support for FM&T's Intellectual Property Team, with a strong emphasis on providing day-to-day support for administrative requirements related to harvesting, docketing, maintaining, and protecting FM&T's Intellectual Property portfolios. The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background with IP experience in government contracting, an associate's degree, and 3+ years of related experience with the U.S. Government (USG), a USG contractor, or at a law firm with USG or USG contractor clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support processes and related forms for invention disclosures, including tracking, review, and evaluation
- Support IP docketing including deadlines, calendars, and proactive case-management communication
- Support strategic IP communications intended for publication for potential impact on patent portfolio
- Support IP Recognition Program and annual IP Awards Ceremony
- Conduct research, perform analysis, and write reports/notes on technologies, companies, and industries of interest
- Assist in preparation for patent prosecution activities before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Knowledge of and experience with Adobe Pro, Microsoft, Excel, Powerpoint, document management software, and online research tools
- General Knowledge of USPTO procedures
- Ability to learn to perform prior art database searches
- Document review, proof reading, editing, and formatting.
- Ability to rapidly analyze reports and data, turning them into visually managed products to prompt management decisions in various media, styles, and formats
- Understanding of legal, regulatory, and contractual constructs
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local government, and DOE legal frameworks and regulations to support federal or nonfederal partnerships and agreements
- Interpret and analyze Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)and contract clauses to ensure compliance and to support technical work programs
- Ability to recognize when legal advice is required for IP activities and appropriately coordinate
- May perform other duties as required
You Must Have:
- US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience with the United States Government (USG), a USG contractor, or at a law firm with USG or USG Contractor clients.
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field of study
