Integration Specialist
The Integration Specialist will help build and maintain interfaces to and from the enterprise EHR system. In this role, the Integration Specialist will keep the Director of Data Integrations informed on the status of all assigned projects on a regular basis in addition to advising of problems.
Responsibilities of the Integration Specialist
- Responsible for development, implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of interface solutions
- Supports and helps implement/integrate telemetry as well as tele-medicine solutions
- Communicates with 3rd parties concerning interface requirements
- Regularly meets with users and vendors to develop/modify interface solutions
- Monitors the performance of interfaces
- Implements all aspects of system requirements, including system analysis, test plans, system performance, and training
- Works with hospital staff to identify the functional capabilities of specialized software applications, investigate causes of system malfunctions and troubleshoot source of errors
- Work in close coordination of with a technical project manager in the build of new integration projects
- Evaluates software and makes recommendations regarding software upgrades/enhancements
- Supports a 24/7 operation onsite and remotely via mobile device after hour
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of clinical applications and workflows, implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices
- Working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software and system specifications, design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications
- Basic knowledge of IS standards and quality methods and metrics
- Basic knowledge of project management methods
- General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications
- General familiarity with regulatory requirements that impact laboratory systems such as JCAHO, CAP, FDA, and various state regulations
Position Qualifications
Education and Training: Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of education and experience. Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or technology-oriented degree
Experience: Three (3) years or more of Information Systems experience
Travel:
- Travel approximately up to 25% includes but not limited to:
- Interaction with technical and hospital staff for education and support
- Corporate team meetings
This is an exempt position. This position reports to the Director of Data Integrations.
