Joye Law Firm is seeking to add an Intake Specialist to our growing Charleston office. The right candidate will be ready and able to provide world-class client service in a professional and empathetic and ethical manner to our clients. Duties and Responsibilities for the Intake Specialist include the following:

  • Answers multi-line phone system with a pleasant, respectful and professional attitude.
  • Handles all new client inquiries, processing and initial paperwork for potential cases. This includes data entry of information into the case management software, following up with potential callers according to the firm’s checklist, and scheduling initial telephone calls between attorneys and potential clients.
  • Schedules investigators to meet with clients remotely to gather additional information and to sign contracts.
  • Working with clients to complete the intake documents.
  • Meets with potential clients who visit the firm without an appointment to gather information necessary to evaluate a case. The Intake Specialist then locates an attorney to meet with the client to determine whether or not we wish to take the case.*
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • The hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook and Needles Case Management software. Additionally, the individual should be capable of operating general office equipment including photocopiers, fax machines and scanning equipment.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
