Wynona's House Child Advocacy Center of Essex County, NJ seeks a diligent and organized Intake & Multi-Disciplinary Team Victim Services Assistant to join and support our Intake and Multi-Disciplinary Teams. This role is a critical component of the Family Advocacy Program which is crucial to the success of child abuse investigations and to helping children and families receive comprehensive, compassionate, and effective services. This position reports to the Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- INTAKE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Schedule and conduct Intake meetings
- Forward cases to the Multi -Disciplinary Team (MDT), Advocates, CAD project; Follow up with caseworkers on Tier 3 cases; determine final tier and assign a Family Advocate as needed; Triage case referrals using the 4 -tier process
- Create, maintain, and update new and existing cases using NCATrak (case management system) and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
- Create, update and maintain Excel spreadsheet of weekly intake cases
- Provide statistics and data for grant compliance report
- Other duties as assigned
MDT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Work closely with the MDT Coordinator to coordinate services for victims by scheduling all monthly MDT meetings and individual case reviews, develop the schedule and agenda, take notes at meeting.
- Coordinate with Victim Advocates, Health Care Services Manager, Mental Health Practitioners, Medical Team, Child Protective Services Caseworkers, CMO providers and CASA.
- Ensure that cases identified at weekly Intake meetings have been referred to the MDT.
- Work with MDT Coordinator and team members to monitor case statuses and ensure that case plans are adhered to.
- Provide and assist with trainings, workshops, and client engagement events for MDT members and Wynona's House staff.
- Act as liaison with community partners,

Requirements & Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related field required.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of victimization theory, direct practice skills, and group work.
- Experience with business computer applications (Microsoft Suite) and NCATrak (case management system).
Preference will go to candidates who also have the following experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Master of Social Work, Master of Public Administration, or related degree
- Bilingual candidates preferred - English & Spanish, English & Creole, or English & Portuguese
- Multi- / inter-disciplinary team experience
