SalaryBRIDGE ENGINEER / INSPECTOR
American Structural Engineering has an immediate opening for an entry-level Bridge Engineer/Inspector in our NJ office. This is a full-time, immediate opportunity. To be considered, a candidate should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program;
- 1-3 years of experience, preferably with bridge inspections;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Strong communication, data management and technical writing skills, both oral and written;
- Proficiency in the use of computers for developing engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing;
- Attendance of Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (NHI Course 130053) a plus;
- Experience with NJTA or NJDOT inspections a plus;
- Proficiency with MicroStation a plus.
The candidate will perform beginning level bridge safety inspection work as an Assistant Team Leader of a bridge safety inspection team and assist higher level inspectors. May be required to perform manual labor such as climbing onto scaffolding and carrying/using ladders to access bridge structures. Candidate will also apply the their knowledge and abilities to assist with office work including general engineering,
