Position Overview:
The Insurance Specialist role is critical to the Agencies Mission, Vision and Core Values of the organization. This position requires a dedicated, dependable and enthusiastic individual with excellent Customer Service skills.

The incumbent accepts the responsibility for establishing and maintaining the internal control system associated with the essential duties and responsibilities of the functional areas that the incumbent manages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Insurance Certification – 50%
- Manage a comprehensive daily report of uninsured or expired certificates.
- Review certificates of insurance for applicable coverage requirements
- Manage an email box of renewal certificates, update in system, and save in the customer file.
- Open, sort and scan inbound mail containing certificates of insurance to the customer file.
- Update the systems with information obtained from the certificate.
- Assist Team Lead in executing insurance verification on special projects and portfolio sales.
- Participate in the development and improvement of workflow efficiencies.
Insurance Support – 50%
- Apply approval to other departments requests for insurance verification on existing and/or new business deals.
- When required, reach out to the customer or their agent of record to resolve outstanding insurance requirements.
- Perform special projects and duties as requested by the manager.
- Assist Insurance Specialist in expanding their knowledge of the role and department goals.
KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators):
- Manage Uninsured or expired certificates.
- Resolve outstanding insurance requirements.
Act independently; Decision-making within Company policy.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities: N/AQualifications:
- Proficiency and skillfulness with all Microsoft applications and aptitude to learn Agency software.
- Basic knowledge of insurance

- Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Personal computer, copier, phone, and other typical office equipment
Working Hours:
- Hours may vary and may require some evening work; frequently requires working 40-45 hours/week depending on business needs
- Occasional travel related to attendance at industry seminars
Physical Demands:
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
- Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
- Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person
The salary will range between $59,300.00 - $67,300.00.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, and education.
