SalaryWe are consultants for Skilled Nursing Facilities looking for a Full Time or Part Time person to obtain Insurance Authorizations for the residents stay.
Full Time Position Hours Monday - Friday - 8:30AM - 4:30PM
Part Time Position Hours 3 days Week 8:30AM - 4:30PM (3 consecutive days - can be discussed at interview which 3 days)
This is an IN OFFICE POSITION (no Remote available). We are located in Wappingers Falls, NY.
Small office atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Authorization Specialist: This position requires medical insurance knowledge and familiarity with process of obtaining authorizations from insurances.
Duties will include obtaining custodial and alternate level of care authorizations for skilled nursing homes from various insurances. Mainly managed medicaid products.
You will be responsible for gathering necessary documents from facility contacts and submitting to insurances via portal/email or fax.
It will also include follow up and tracking those authorization requests from initiation until approval and any follow up needed for additional authorization extensions needed.
Additional duties will include assisting the Billing department with follow up on insurance claims, resubmissions, appeals and various other claim related tasks during down time. (making calls to insurances or checking portals for claim status, resubmitting claims and submitting appeals if needed.)
Training will be provided.
Large amounts of phone/computer screen time required with this position.
Looking for someone who is able to work independently once training is complete.

Skilled Nursing or Medical billing experience a major plus.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented and a team player.
Must be willing to take direction but able to also work independently.
Experience with submission and processing authorizations is required.
Familiarity with insurance claims and insurance billing a plus.
Excel, Word, Email and Computer knowledge a must.
Punctuality, Reliability and ability to work independently are qualities we are looking for.
Must adheres to all HIPAA (Health Insurance Accountability and Portability Act) guidelines and regulations.
Salary is $22.00-$25.00/hour
