Ø Develop Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) deliverables for all phases of a project including conceptual design, preliminary design, and detailed design.
Ø Develop the design of medium and low voltage facility power distribution systems from the electric utility interface point.
Ø Develop the design of emergency and uninterruptible power generation and distribution systems.
Ø Develop the design of miscellaneous electrical systems, such as lighting, grounding, and electrical heat tracing.
Ø Develop typical Electrical Engineering and design drawings, such as single line diagrams, power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans, electrical area classification plans, electrical equipment arrangement plans, cable tray layout plans, and sections, conduit and cable schedules, motor control schematics.
Ø Develop typical electrical specifications, such as electrical equipment - MV/LV switchgear, MCC’s, power transformers, standby/backup generators, UPSs, etc.
Ø Develop electrical installation – general requirements, testing, and commodities.
Ø Develop typical Electrical databases/spreadsheets such as motor and electrical load lists, panel schedules, I/O List
Ø Coordinate typical Electrical calculations such as load flow studies and voltage drop calculations, lighting calculations, short circuit and protective device coordination analysis, arc flash calculations, and label creation.
Ø Develop typical Instrumentation Deliverables - I/O list, instrumentation selection, and data sheets.
Ø Participate in the development of I&E engineering and design effort hour estimates, material takeoffs, and construction cost estimates.
Ø Participate in the development of I&E construction bid packages.
Ø Participate in procurement activities associated with I&E systems and equipment.
Ø Procurement activities include preparing technical data for inquiry packages, preparing technical bid evaluations, and review of vendor drawing and document submittal reviews.
Ø Perform construction administration activities such as contractor submittals review, respond to requests for information (RFI), site reviews, fabrication shop I&E coordination, and inspections.
Ø Perform inspections of I&E installations and equipment for conformance with engineering documents, equipment specifications, and safety standards
Ø Develop standard installation details and specifications for I&E systems and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALICATIONS
v Requirements:
§ Over six years of I&E design and implementation experience
§ Four-year BS in Electrical Engineering
§ Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
§ Must be willing to travel (10% max) to fabrication shops and customer sites.
§ Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
§ FE/EIT certification and/or an active professional engineers (PE) license
v Preferred Qualifications:
§ Proficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
§ Knowledge of instrumentation and Electrical Engineering and design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials and costs, and construction techniques
§ Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and applicable electrical codes, as well as applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., I&E, ANSI, IEEE, ISA)
§ Experience in facility medium and low voltage power distribution system design and the preparation of electrical equipment and systems procurement and installation specifications
§ Experience in emergency and uninterruptible power generation and distribution systems design and the preparation of associated electrical equipment, procurement, and installation specifications
§ Experience with designing skid-packaged oil & gas processing systems
