Title: Maintenance – Electrical, Instrumentation Starting wage $45.90
Position Summary: This position ensures service, maintenance and reliability of electrical equipment and facilities. Performs inspections & tests on terminal equipment; documents and keeps records of test results - carries out schedule of test requirements. Occasional minor service and maintenance of other equipment at the facility. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and instrumentation wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and instrument components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Routine maintenance on various operating equipment, including, but not limited to, pumps, valves, meters, compressors, and motors, tanks, pipes, Terminal building, and various other equipment.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Ensures that all Terminal equipment, including safety devices and systems are functioning properly, and reports any and all equipment failures to supervisor.
- Performs daily walk-around inspections to identify any potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Work professionally with industry specialists, local and federal Inspectors, Engineers, Programmers, and Contractors.
- Recognizes and corrects unsafe acts or conditions and/or stops work.
- Ensures that all contractors follow Company Policies and Procedures when accessing or working in the Terminal. Ensures that all customers and vendors accessing Terminal follow all Terminal Policies and Procedures.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Current Utah journeyman license
- Tech/trade school or craft career, progress/completion will distinguish a candidate for consideration
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Clearly speaks, reads & writes English.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Vast knowledge of Class 1 Div 1/Div 2 wiring practice.
- Excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude – experience with electrical equipment and systems required.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills of electrical/Instrumentation 4-20mA systems
- Knowledge of basic PLC programming SCADA
- Safety focus required.
- Detail-oriented – especially regarding keeping and organizing work records.
- Computer Literate – spreadsheets, word processing desired. Work/project scheduling software ability is highly desired.
