FIELD TECHNICIAN (INSTRUMENTATION) / LEAD TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION: (PAY RANGE LISTED BELOW IS NEGOTIABLE AND ENTRIELY DEPENDEDNT UPON EXPERIENCE). We have an immediate full-time opening here at B.E.S.T electric for a electrical FIELD TECHNICIAN. Our technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, designing, installing, maintaining, and integrating new automation and control systems in the mining and asphalt industries. We expect our technicians to have a background in instrumentation and/or commercial and industrial services. Engineers and seasoned Journeyman are welcome to apply! We welcome anyone with experience to come and learn this niche part of the trade.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have VALID, Utah/state issued driver’s license. (NO DUI’S)

- High school diploma (minimum)

- Journeyman license NOT REQUIRED

- Experience with control systems and basic motor control circuits is required.

- Expected to know how to read a meter and interpret different signal types (0-10v, 4-20mA, 0-20mA).

- Experience with ethernet IP, modbus tcp, rs485 and rs232 communication protocols is preferred but not required.

- Must be flexible with scheduling and weekend work (normal business hours are 7am-5pm, mon-Friday with one lead and apprentice on call, every week for after hours and weekend call outs) The week “after hours” call schedule is rotating (typically once a month).

- Must be reliable and motivated and hungry for knowledge.

- Must have an eye for quality with wiring methods and system design.
