KINESIOLOGY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH
Job Summary
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health, located in the College of Applied Health Sciences, are searching for an outstanding colleague with a background in Public Health, Kinesiology, or related fields to engage in teaching and assist with developing our new online Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program. This is a full time, nine-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Instructor/Teaching Assistant Professor/Teaching Associate Professor/Teaching Full Professor (depending on credentials). The candidate will teach a wide variety of in-person and online Public Health courses for graduate students. Primary areas of teaching interest include graduate level internship and capstone courses, as well as professionalism in Public Health. Opportunities to teach in other topic areas may include PUBLIC HEALTH policy, epidemiology, health disparities, PUBLIC HEALTH research methods, PUBLIC HEALTH practice, and related courses. In addition to teaching, the candidate will also assist with the development of our new Online Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program. Successful candidates also have opportunities to engage in research; mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels; collaborate with faculty and staff; and contribute to our growing MPH program within a thriving interdisciplinary department.

Qualifications:
Required
Successful candidates must have either a Master of Public Health or a doctoral degree in Public Health, Kinesiology, or a related field prior to the start date.
Preferred
High priority will be given to applicants with experience collaborating with communities on PUBLIC HEALTH initiatives. Extensive practical work experience and research IN PUBLIC HEALTH are viewed favorably. Demonstrated excellence in college or university-level in person and online teaching; interest and experience in research, course development, current educational technologies, and a strong desire to create new and innovative course materials will enhance an application. Interest and experience in engaging online communities and teaching students with a diversity of backgrounds is desired. This is a 100% full-time Academic position, appointed on a 9-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible starting 1/8/2024. Salary is commensurate with the applicant's experience.
