Job Summary:The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in history. The selected candidate will be required to teach a four/four course load of undergraduate courses and/or an equivalent combination of undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of History. Other duties include teaching online classes, students’ advising, university services, research, and scholarly activities.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:• Demonstrate knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching, managing, and evaluating students.
Essential Job Functions :- Ability to teach a variety of History courses.
- Demonstrate knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching, managing, and evaluating students.
- Advise history major students about academic requirements and registration for classes.
- Contribute to continual program improvement through annual evaluation of program outcomes and objectives.
- Assist in ongoing program curriculum development and participate in service to the program, department, and school.
- Actively engage in professional activities related to the Department of Social Sciences.
- Actively engage in research.
- Comply with the departmental curriculum, grading standards, student performance data, attendance policy, textbooks choices, and assessment.
- Comply with all scheduled due dates regarding teaching, grading, and advising.
- Serve in department, school, and university committees.
- Comply with all federal, state, and university laws and policies.
- Contribute to continual program improvement through annual evaluation of program outcomes and objectives.
- Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course;
- Attend classes regularly, maintain active syllabi, and return reports, credentials, and other requested documents in a timely manner.
The candidate must have an earned doctorate in History from an accredited institution.
Teaching experience at college level is preferred.Licensing and Certifications :
