Introduction
Instructional Designer
Position Overview:
The Instructional Designer role is responsible for producing compelling and innovative learning experiences for the Gallagher Bassett workforce. The role requires consulting and collaborating with learning and development professionals, and business leaders. Responsibilities include applying instructional design methodologies, conducting needs assessments, collaborating on comprehensive training curricula, and developing diverse learning content.
How you'll make an impact
Main Areas of Focus:

  • Designs learner-centric experiences that consider different learning style preferences. This involves creating facilitated and online content and activities that foster engagement and knowledge retention throughout the learning process.
  • Conducts thorough needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and performance. This involves understanding the target audience and performance objectives.
  • Utilizes instructional methodologies, technologies, and e-learning authoring tools to develop and deliver content in different formats.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, concurrently overseeing diverse stakeholder interactions that encompass leadership, subject matter experts, facilitators, and developers.
  • Manages multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, in an environment that requires the swift production of learning assets. Meets deliverable timelines, stays within scope, and adheres to budget constraints.

About you
Required:
Bachelor's degree in organizational development, human resources, business, or related field required. Minimum of 5 years progressive human resources experience in a training or organizational development capacity required. Must have prior experience managing leadership development programs (Internship program experience desired). Must have prior experience creating customized training content as well as facilitating training presentations to a wide variety of learners in an engaging, meaningful way.
Preferred:
  • Education: Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field is preferable; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development, in a corporate setting. General insurance knowledge a plus, not required.
  • Expertise: Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and learning theories, as well as experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Products - Storyline 360, Camtasia, SnagIT, Powerpoint, etc.)
