Program to run from January TBD- May 31, 2023
Work hours- (Embedded School Day Hours)
Days- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday- Must be able to work all three days.
BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with the district schools. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades K-8 in building skills in math and literacy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop strong relationships with the site staff and community.
- Ensures that tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed.
- Completes and submits digital records of tutor and scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns.
- Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other Site Coordinators and/or Instructional Coaches. Manages the tutor's work schedules.
- Apprise the NJTC Program Director of staff of issues immediately and help work to resolve them.
- Ensure that tutors are using all materials needed to help scholars succeed.
- Observe tutoring and provide constructive feedback to tutors.
- Assist tutors with data-driven instruction using I-Ready
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree
- Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS)
- Experience teaching
- Past history of instructional coaching
- Undergo background check for I9 status to work in the United States, criminal history check (fingerprints) or provide fingerprint certificate if criminal history check is already in place
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from work sites
- Final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
- Meet COVID requirements of the Local Education Agency (LEA) site at which you are working - show proof of vaccination.
- Mask rules for LEA must be followed while indoors.
