Howmet Engine Systems has an immediate opening for an Inspector to assist in the manufacturing process at our facility in Rochester, NY. Initial hours start at 7am-3:30pm. Moving to 11am-7pm after trained.
Basic Function:
Inspection of Forged metal seamless rings for aerospace.
This position is eligible for a $1,000.00 sign-on bonus .
Responsibilities:
- Perform set-up of measuring and test equipment as needed to determine dimensional measurements required on customer or in-house product drawings or blueprints
- Perform set-up and inspection of those products requiring very close tolerances
- Perform over-inspections on outside machining
- Audit parts for conformance to procedures and results of inspections
- Perform first article inspections and prepare inspection records as required
- Prepare non-conforming material reports
- Maintain a clean and orderly inspection area
- Perform final production inspection
Basic Qualifications
- May be required to wear a respirator for certain tasks
- Must be able to accurately read standard measuring tools (ruler, Vernier, calipers)
- Must be able to be certified as a Howmet EHS and OSHA qualified forklift operator with previous forklift operation experience
- Must have previous experience in a manufacturing facility
- Candidates should be flexible to work up to a 12-hour shift

Salary Range: $21-$23 /hour depending on experience
