Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible to locate bid opportunities through third party services, coordinate efforts of Field Sales Engineers, interpret specifications, prepare quotations, manage CRM database, and perform other various tasks as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead role for public bid opportunities; interpreting plans and specifications, generating proposals, and customer follow-up.
- Use online services and daily web searches to identify opportunities, entering findings in CRM
- Create and maintain records for all opportunities to include company bid calendar
- Obtain quotes from third party vendors and review for accuracy
- Field customer calls, inquiries, and RFQs
- Communicate with customers, engineers, outside sales, and management
- Assist in sales functions to include calling on customers and attending seminars and presentations
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Proactively acquires new customers through outbound calling initiatives.
- Effectively communicates, both written and orally, with customers when delivering sales presentations, product and marketing information, and all account updates.
- Introduces customers to the Generac Industrial programs and products.
- Establishes, reviews, and reports market activity, market penetration, pricing, margins, selling approaches and itineraries to product management.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Resolves issues by working with the customer, commercial sales and/or product marketing.
- Assist admin, sales engineers, project manager, and senior management as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling industrial, mechanical or technical products and a technical/mechanical aptitude is desirable
- Requires exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication, time & territory management, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 2+ years of experience in Inside Sales, estimating, or technical sales support position
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
- Proficient with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft CRM
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver presentations and business solutions
- Requires well-developed problem solving and negotiation skills across the pricing spectrum
- Ability to work and communicate effectively and positively in a team environment.
- Ability to travel as needed, up to 15%
- Proof of valid driver’s license and insurability
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
