The Inside Sales Representative serves as an integral part of the sales team. The rep is a consultative partner for existing and new customers and well-versed in our service offerings, market trends and best-in-class industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize sales process to generate new sales opportunities through phone and email.
- Proactively utilize CRM to identify, contact, and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Generate profitable growth and achieve sales goals through target quotas.
- Develop strong working relationships with customers and key decision makers to assess and understand their needs, becoming trusted advisor and partner.
- Source new sales opportunities and expand existing customer portfolio by overcoming customer objections and concerns
- Review customers' unique situations and demonstrate product and industry knowledge to influence customer decisions so that Myers is the preferred solution provider.
- Effectively articulate Myers' value proposition to customers.
- Drive coordination and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders: Customers/Targets, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Product Management, and other business units within Myers Industries to exceed both internal and external commitments.
- Communicate with customers on new products and services, and price adjustments; conducts periodic and regular surveys of customers to determine satisfaction and cross-selling opportunities.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and fact-based planning skills required.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to complete reporting, analyze, summarize, and communicate overviews and action plans to audiences at all leadership levels.
- Ability to apply data analysis and related principles to product sales.
- Comfort learning engineering and processing knowledge to effectively interact with potential customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven competency in sales required.
- Strong business acumen, and the ability to have business discussions across all levels.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Ability to spend 50% or more of the day working with customers over the phone.
- Excellent listening and communication skills and telephone etiquette
- Track record of exceeding goals and a willingness to learn with a desire to improve.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong business relationships with customers, both internal and external
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of Inside Sales, customer service or related required.
- Professional experience with B2B customers, including customer needs assessment, sales plan development, pipeline development, and required.
- Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Software.
- Disciplined and effective use of CRM (Salesforce) required.
