TITLE:Inside Sales Representative
REPORTS TO: Channel Sales Director
DEPARTMENT: SALES
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
LOCATION: Remote
POSITION SUMMARY: Generate new academic sales and retain existing sales in assigned territory; develop and qualify prospect lists from undergraduate legal faculty, deans, administrators, and program chairs; increase new business through virtual meetings, presentations, sales calls, and emails.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve annual territory sales goals
- Generate leads and close sales for adoptable electronic and print publications with undergraduate school faculty
- Engage in sales activities to schools within territory and present product solutions of our textbook, digital, and institutional products
- Drive new business to develop growth within the territory
- Maintain current business and provide support to customers
- Master print and electronic product content for Aspen Publishing and competition titles, and share market intelligence and sales techniques with colleagues
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt presentations to meet audience needs
- Submit weekly sales activity reports, including projections of adopted business
- Update and maintain faculty and bookstore contact management system, including information on courses taught and books used
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions of sales reporting and metrics
- Participate in biannual sales meetings, as well as external conferences as directed
- Build strong relationships with Aspen Publishing purchase influencers, including Academic Deans, Academic Support coordinators, Registrars, authors, and faculty
- Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline, account, and contact information, and record all sales activity in CRM
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- 2+ years of Inside Sales experience preferably in legal and/or academic sales
- Ability to work with CRM to manage and maintain an accurate customer data base, Zoho a plus
- Ability to demo online technology products virtually
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt presentations to meet audience needs
- Ability to manage a large client base across a large geographic territory
- Consistent achievement of sales quotas
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
- Proactive self-starter with hands-on approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast paced, changing environment
- Ability to meet deadlines in a consistent and accurate manner
- Driven to succeed and motivated by a target driven environment
- Demonstrated ability in working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to listen and speak carefully while interacting with others
