Job Title :            Insectary Lab Technician

Shift:                   7:30am-4:00pm, M-F

Location:            15 East 4 Mile Rd. Racine WI, 53402 USA

Pay rate:             20/hr. on w2.

Duration:            02 Years

Job Description:

Support development and testing of SCJ products in the Entomology Center. This includes care and maintenance of the house fly colony, which entails making larva fly media, seeding media, harvesting fly pupae, feeding adult flies and recording colony data. Candidate will report irregularities to the full time insectary staff. Candidate may learn additional insectary duties as the execution of the housefly schedule is mastered. Must be comfortable being around and working with insects not limited to house flies. Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, good initiative and strong sense of urgency. Ability to work well independently. Responsible for using and cleaning all laboratory equipment and dishes. Must have excellent attendance and punctuality to report to work on time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Bachelors or Associates degree (science related field preferred)
