Job Description
The employee will accept, inspect, control, maintain and ultimately release all Inmate Property through the use of both receipts and data entry records. Other duties include the following: vacuum seal all arrestee's property upon collection, launder soiled clothing if necessary, inventory several items for the inmate move lists, coordinate the red hygiene bags, disseminate tablets with earbuds, communicate with GTL on broken tablet repairs, and receive arrestees' propery and bicycles formerly housed at the main property office.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment required to perform position tasks.
Ability to effectively communicate information, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
Ability to interpret and follow procedural and policy manuals related to the job in accordance with agency policy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office requires all employees to have either an associates degree, 60 equivalent hours from an accredited college or university or the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test. The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test measures verbal and quantitative skills. Sworn Law Enforcement and Corrections Deputies must achieve a minimum passing score of Verbal - 267 and Quantitative - 241. Civilians must achieve a minimum passing score of Verbal - 248 and Quantitative - 241.

December Holiday Schedule: STCI will close for testing from Decemeber 23rd, 2023 until January 9th, 2024.
