Job Description
All responsibilities of an operator plus technician will use prior education/training or experience to provide meaningful input and actively contribute to engineering documents, test methods and equipment, and manufacturing processes and equipment, based on a specific area of expertise, under the direction and supervision of Engineering. The technician will directly oversee processes while indirectly overseeing and providing technical direction to operators and product builders to ensure products are developed, manufactured, and tested according to IMI systems and requirements. Measured against established standards.
Schedule:
Wed, Thu, Fri 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. and every other Saturday 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Documentation and guidelines.
Start up and shut down Injection Molding machines and equipment.
Knowledge of IMI products.
Identify common Injection molding defects.
Responsible for proper color blending and usage of proper raw material.
On-the-job training of new employees.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintenance to be performed.
Must set up Injection Molding machines and troubleshoot any quality issues.
Inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on plant machinery and accessories, as necessary.
Must adhere to all safety guidelines.
Data entry of work order information. Follow all instructions and be willing to learn new manufacturing techniques.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of document management and database operations.
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language and be understood.
Must have moderate organizational, communication, and time management skills.
A positive attitude and good attendance are a must.
Must be moderate and accurate in the use of computer software programs and accessing information from the company computer system.
Moderate math skills.
Injection molding knowledge.
Machine maintenance knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical device product and/or market knowledge.
Work experience with a medical device manufacturer.
Validation processing knowledge.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Must be alert, able to concentrate, and use good judgment.
Much of the time is spent standing and walking.
Occasional bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting.
Moderate physical effort required equivalent to lifting 25 or moving up to 100 pounds.
Will work in a normally acceptable production floor or warehouse with no abnormal hazards or risks. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust.
