Job Description:
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently seeking an Infotainment SW development Sr. Engineer / Engineer at our Superior Township, MI facility. This position is in the department of Infotainment System SW Development that undertakes various innovation projects related to infotainment and UI/UX systems software development for the next generation vehicle software architecture as well as production application of SW features and service contents.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan and design automotive infotainment features and define engineering specs
- Develop request for quote (RFQ) documentation and lead supplier vetting
- Organize, plan, and execute infotainment projects utilizing agile software development and traditional automotive quality processes such as V-Model and Aspice
- Lead and mentor software development peers
- Drive the stakeholder communication and alignment around the project status and deliverables
- Ensure the deployment and adherence to state of the art devOps processes
- Define the target validation level and quality metrics for the project
- Collaborate with internal/external project partners such as content providers, prototyping services, university labs, and tech suppliers
- Conduct competitor system benchmarking, industry technology sensing, and trend analysis
Travel both domestically and internationally up to 20%
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of industry working experience in automotive infotainment field
- Understanding of engineering spec definition: SRS, SAD, SDD, Wireframe
- Knowledge in automotive infotainment operating systems: Linux, QNX, Android Automotive
- Experience with HMI development technologies: QT, Kanzi, Altia, Disti, Android Studio
- Able to adapt to agile work scope with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
- Comfortable with blank-slate initiatives as well as on-going established projects
- Good communication skills and ability to develop/keep good relationship with tech experts from R&D Center and internal counterpart teams
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Experience with common software frameworks like: Wayland, OpenglES, Android meta-EGL, LVGL, OpenVG, Vulkan, Virt
- Experience with 3D development frameworks: Unity, Unreal Engine, Silicon Studio
- Experience debugging embedded devices and system optimizing performance
- Experience in production SW lifecycle including requirements, system design, development, and maintenance of the embedded software for vehicle systems
- Working knowledge of vehicle communication network systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and instrumentation/operation of data acquisition systems such as ETAS/INCA and Vector/CANoe
- Understanding of modern techniques in at least one of the following fields: Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, or Voice/Speech Recognition
- Knowledge in Agile, Waterfall, DevOps development processes and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo
