Who we are and what we do:
We are the Enterprise Resource Planning Division in the General Government Domain of Strategic Technology Solutions within the Department of Finance and Administration. This position serves as the Senior Manager leading a team of Applications and Database Administrators supporting the Edison applications and databases that include PeopleSoft, Identity and Access Management, Business Intelligence Analytics Datawarehouse, and other applications. The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has been in use since 2008 for the administration of state activities for Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Financials, Supply Chain, and Training modules for 45,000 employees and 250,000 benefits participants.
How you make a difference in this role:
The Edison Development team participates in assigned projects from their inception through go-live by collaborating with internal/external customers and other Edison team members. It applies delivered updates to systems, develops customizations to accommodate specific business requirements, and provides operational support and maintenance. This leadership position makes a difference through review of the details associated with project resource requirements, system and infrastructure architecture design, solution design, and overseeing operational aspects like application upgrades, feature enhancements, incident and change management, and optimization and automation of system processes with Business Intelligence, ERP Analytics, and various data-related efforts. This position supports annual information systems planning in collaboration with other groups.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guiding, directing, and motivating direct reports to accomplish their day-to-day activities as well as accomplishing the mission and vision of the organization.
2. Providing support for the division's Business Intelligence and Analytics systems, including application upgrades, integration support, problem resolution, guiding team members, and supporting customer strategies.
3. Identifying and removing roadblocks to success, providing tools and resources to the team for success, and continually challenging the validity of current processes by being aware of emerging technology and industry best practices.
4. Collaborating with other team managers to assign resources to tasks and contributing to key decisions that are aligned with strategic goals.
5. Providing oversight to the team including knowledge transfer, training, and communications, as needed.
6. Championing change and influencing the team to meet business needs based on optimal return on investment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and eight years of professional level experience in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY including at least three of the eight years must include supervisory experience, Or Substitution of a Specific Associate's Degree for the Required Bachelor's Degree: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Information Technology related associate's degree may substitute for the required bachelor's degree, Or Substitution of Experience for the Specific Associate's Degree: Professional level experience in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY may substitute for the required Information Technology associate's degree on a year-for-year basis to a maximum. Substitution Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional level experience in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY including at least two of the five years must include supervisory experience.
